Residents Association and Community Company to Merge

A Special General Meeting of the Willow Wood residents unanimously agreed that  the Willow Wood Residents Association should merge with the Community Company and that the Willow Wood (West Lothian) Community Company should be the single voice of the Willow Wood residents.  Full proposals will be adopted at the WWRA AGM in November but it is likely that the Company will operate on three levels:  Resident representation at a local level, a social committee looking after member needs and national representation through joint working with  PHLAGS or other national representation body.

Willow Wood Residents Oppose Planning Application

A planning application by the site owners, Welch's Homes, for the siting of static caravans on the site is meeting fierce opposition.  West Lothian Council have received numerous individual objections plus a 48 signature petition opposing the plans.  Most objections are based around the fact that home owners here at Willow Wood bought into the park against a specific set of plans, a limited number of homes and adequate amenity space.  Since 2004, the plans have been change without consultation, additional homes have crept in and amenity land has been largely eroded.  The application is not expected to be heard till later in the autumn.
