Winter Comes to Willow Wood

February saw an Arctic blast blow in from the East bringing with it a fair downfall of snow.  At the same time the first lamb was born in the field adjacent to the Park and our first snowdrop appeared.

This wasn't the first snow of the winter, we had the first fall last November but this was the heaviest for a while.

Many of the residents mucked in to make sure the park road was kept clear and could be seen spreading salt - often very early in the morning.  Thanks to all who contributed.  We are presently in negotation with the landowner for the provision of a tractor for snow clearance and spreading and it would have been handy this week!

Looking forward to Spring, the Association Committee hav esanctuiioned investment in a community greenhouse to be sited in the Community Garden.  The greenhouse is intended to encourage members to learn to grow their own plants, particularly vegetables, anmd top bring on flowering plants for the Community garden and for handing baskets throughoput the park.  More news on this as it progresses.
