PITCH FEE REVIEWS - CHANGE FROM RPI TO CPI

After much pressure from SCOPHRA, Scottish Ministers are minded to change the basis of our pitch fee reviews from the Retail Prices Index (RPI) to the Consumer Prices Index (CPI).

The Scottish Government intend to include this change in the Housing (Scotland) Bill 2023 but as this is PRIMARY legislation, Ministers are required to consult the public on their proposals.  Our Colleagues at the Scottish Government informed us last week that the consultation is now live online, and SCOPHRA are urging every SCOPHRA member and association, as well as park home residents throughout Scotland, to participate. WWRA will organise the Wilow Wood response but overwhelming support from residents will counteract the attacks already being mounted against the proposals by site owners’ organisations.  This support is required from every individual member as well as associations.

We ask and urge you to participate by going online to:

https://consult.gov.scot/local-government-and-communities/change-to-basis-of-pitch-uprating-consultation/

(Cut and paste this address into your browser or follow the link on the SCOPHRA website)

Completing the form might seem difficult but just answer each question one by one, you do not need to put in comments, and you can be anonymous if you like, just follow the online instructions.

The full consultation background can be found with the form.

Most folks will never have completed such a consultation, but the Scottish Government issue every week on all kinds of legislation and most folk ignore them, yet we moan if we do not like the outcomes.

It is really important that we give a big response and if you are finding it difficult to complete, contact SCOPHRA.

Please also tell your neighbours about this so that they participate, lets face it completing this consultation will actually save you a few pounds EVERY year forever! The consultation is open till 7 April 2023.
