Footpath Comes a Step Nearer

Three years of lobbying by the Residents Association has at last borne fruit.  Contractors started in late January 2009 with the preparatory work for a footpath linking the park along the B7015 to its junction with the B792 at Stoneyburn Cross.

Since 2004, residents of the park have literally been taking their life in their hands when making their way to the shops or Post office in Stoneyburn or indeed, reaching the nearest bus stop.  While the B7015 is a rural road it is a well used artery for reaching Livingston and is a fast commuter route.

The road has seen its fair share of accidents, happily none fatal, and this was one factor in the Association lobbying West Lothian Council, our local Councillors and our MSP, Angela Constance for a solution.  Their combined efforts and the excellent efforts of the Council and its staff has resulted in this major step forward.

Completion is expected in early March 2009.
